Unfortunately, I missed both nights of the full moon because both nights were overcast and rainy. Tonight I got a good view of the waning gibbous, still brightly illuminated and big.
One interesting thing I noticed is that the moon rotated in the night sky quite a lot since the last time I saw it two or three day ago. At that time it was directly overhead. Tonight when I looked, I noticed it had shifted quite a bit towards the southeast horizon line. Isn't this because of the different moon rise times as well as the time of day I view the moon?
The picture I took was taken around 9pm. The moon could be seen through the trees.

Monday, February 25
Tonight was supposed to be a full moon, but unfortunately we have rain and cloud cover! In the midst of the rain and clouds, the moon was so bright that it still managed to light up the night sky. I couldn't see the outline of the moon, but the sky has an eerie glow that lets me know there's a full moon on the other side of those clouds.
Here's what my moon app stated about tonight's moon. I went to view the moon at 9:55, and I should add that I ran into the pouring rain just to see if I could get a glimpse of that full moon.... No luck!

I forgot to post my view of the moon from last night. The two nights preceding Saturday (yesterday) were stormy and the moon was not visible.
Last night's moon was a waxing gibbous. It's getting very close to a full moon, and it almost looked full last night!
Here is the picture I took at 10:30pm.

Wednesday, February 20 waxing gibbous
I wasn't able to see the moon until after sunset tonight because of cloud cover during the afternoon hours. When I let my dog out before bed (10PM), the moon was clearly visible, lighting up the whole night sky. There were also very visible constellations as well. It's a beautiful evening to precede the storms we are going to get tomorrow!
Here's a picture of my view of the moon. It doesn't look like a gibbous because it was taken on an iPhone, so bear with me. I've also included today's information from my moon app.
This picture was taken at 10PM.

Tuesday, Feb. 19 Waxing Gibbous
Today I spotted the moon right as I was leaving my Science class at 2:25PM. It was almost directly overhead, maybe slightly at an angle. From my observations, the moon seemed to be just barely waxing its way to a full moon. It still resembled a quarter moon to the unaided eye at that time of day, however.
Here is a picture of what I saw at 5PM.

Here is some more information about this moon's phase from my "Moon App"
Looking forward to a full moon coming soon!
